Have a history of ovarian cysts, one of which resulted in my appendix being removed to help alleviate the pain. Now, I have the similar right lower abdominal discomfort I get when I have these cysts, but now I also have a burning sensation when I urinate. I took an OTC diagnostic test for UTI which came back negative for nitrites but positive for leukocytes (white blood cells).
Let me rephrase: Is it theoretically possible that an ovarian cyst, growing initially on one’s ovary can then continue to grow to press on the bladder, in which case an infection may occur within the bladder?
Also, I have had ovarian cysts that go away on their own, not causing an infection.

I have never had ovarian cysts, and I don’t have medical insurance to go get it checked out if there is no reason to worry. I had a UTI recently and don’t know if maybe it is connected. I have a sharp pain that comes and goes in the left side of my lower abdomen. A friend told me it is ovarian cysts, so I am wondering, those of you who have had them, what symptoms did you experience?
