I’ve been having these pains in my pelvis for over 6 weeks now. My last period was particularly painful and a bit lighter than usual. I’m on the pill. When I was first prescribed it, 5 years ago, it worked well- reducing period pains and making them lighter, but then I started to have breakthrough bleeding and what seemed to be ovulation pains. The doc changed my pill and it seemed to improve. Then 6 weeks ago I started to have these pains again. They move from side to side or sometimes travel right accross my lower abdomen. I thought pregnancy was the cause at first, but have taken several tests and they’ve all come back negative. I’ve no other symptoms, just these pains/aches in my pelvis. I’ve heard that ovarian cysts can cause these type of pains, but women rarely get them when they’re on the pill. Is it possible though?

I’ve been told that I have a cyst on my right ovary for 5 months now and every now and then I get pains and then it goes away. I had a CT scan on my pelvis and abdomen and it showed my right ovary to be slightly larger than my left. My doctor said that nothing on the picture made them worry so it was nothing to be afraid of.
