Apple Pudding INDIANA

2 cups diced apples
1 cup sugar
1 egg well beaten
1 tsp teaspoon baking soda
1 1 / 2 tsp teaspoon cinnamon
1 / 2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 / 2 c. salt
1 tsp teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine apples and sugar, add egg. Sift together baking soda, cinnamon, salt and flour, add the apple mixture and mix well. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour in an oven for 8 x 8 inches. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

SAUCE:

SAUCE:

1 / 2 cup sugar
1 / 2 cup brown sugar
1 / 4 cup butter or margarine
2 v. tablespoons flour
1 cup water

Cook until the sauce is thick and pour over the cake when it comes out of the oven. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

BAKED DOUGHNUTS Doughnut APPLE

1 1 / 2 cup sifted flour
1 3 / 4 c. teaspoon baking powder
1 / 2 c. salt
1 / 2 c. teaspoon nutmeg
1 / 2 cup sugar
1 / 3 cup shortening
1 egg beaten
1 / 4 cup milk
1 / 2 cup grated apples
1 / 2 cup shock melted
1 / 3 cup sugar
1 tsp teaspoon cinnamon

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and 1 / 2 cup sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture is well. Mix eggs, milk and apple. Add the mixture all at once, the ingredients dry and mix quickly. Fill greased muffin cups 2 / 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Mix sugar 1 / 3 cup and cinnamon. Remove fritters from the kitchen immediately and roll in melted oleo and then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Delicious hot.
